Hawkshead: Part 1 of 2

Hawkshead, in the heart of the Lake District is another place that I never get tired of photographing when you 'capture' views such as the one above.

Whithorn Town & Priory

The very quiet main street in the Dumfries and Galloway town of Whithorn. All photo's in this series were taken by Lynda Braithwaite. 

Looking in the other direction. 

Whithorn is 10 miles south of Wigtown. 

Whithorn has a population of around 1,000

Colourful, almost Irish -like.

Whithorn Priory was a medieval Abbey, that also served a a Cathedral. 

The Priory was built in the middle of the 12th century.

Morecambe Town Centre: Where Were The Christmas Shoppers?

As you can see from, Morecambe Town centre was heaving with Christmas shoppers this morning! OK, it wasn't, and I do wonder where they all were considering there are only two days to go before Christmas  Day. I expected the town to be buzzing with folk getting ready for the day. 

Euston Road. Almost deserted. 

Moving into the Arndale Shopping Centre. Surely that would be busy?

Again, not very busy at all. 

Finally, liquid refreshment. 'Snow Globe' from Moorhouses Brewery, Burnley. 

Near Sawrey

The village of Near Sawrey is on the road from Hawkshead to the Windermere Ferry Landing. The village is known for it's Beatrix Potter connection and Hill Top where she once lived.
