Preston Railway Station

The main entrance to Preston Railway Station. It is a major interchange on the West Coast main line which runs from London to Scotland. Services also operate from Preston to Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Windermere, Barrow-in-Furness and Ormskirk to name a few.
Not the sharpest of images I'm afraid. The plaque was very awkwardly placed high on a wall, and I suspect a lot of passers by don't even realise it is there!

Down the slope from the main entrance onto the platforms.
There were a few passengers waiting for this train. But not the lady sat down on the platform!
My visit to the station coincided with a real quiet spell between trains. I can assure you, it isn't always like this, especially in peak periods, when it gets extremely busy with commuters.
Even quieter on the northbound platforms.
Note the symmetrical nature of the doorways and windows.
I wonder what train these folk were waiting for?
Still on the northbound platform, but looking south.
I was surprised how few plaques were on the station. This one is to commemorate  the 7th Battalion of The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.
Time to leave the station. Back up the slope. Welcome to Lancashire.
