The Chapel ruins, |
Named after the Irish Saint, Finian, who was educated at nearby Whithorn and died around AD579. |
Excavations at the Chapel took place in 1950, and it is believed to date back to the 10th or the 11th century. |
Located overlooking Luce Bay, the Chapel became a stopping point for Pilgrims on their way to the nearby Shrine of Whithorn. The Pilgrims would have made the sea journey from Ireland. |
