Forres

On the first day of our recent holiday to Inverness, we visited the nearby town of Forres. The main street, which is dominated by the distinctive Tolbooth building and tower. 

A number of these 'cut down' whisky barrels from the local Distillery were dotted around the town and used as an attractive flower bed.

Hayes Garden World, Ambleside

Glasgow Queen Street

Plans have just been announced for what amount to an almost complete rebuild of Glasgow Queen Street station, including longer platforms, redesigned concourse, and a new, modern facade. I thought I had better take some photographs of what it looks like now. 

The images were taken just before we boarded the train for Inverness. 

It is currently quite a cramped concourse for what is a very busy station.

The proposed design for the outside of the new look station was displayed on the floor of the concourse. Unfortunately it was difficult to photograph.
