Forres

On the first day of our recent holiday to Inverness, we visited the nearby town of Forres. The main street, which is dominated by the distinctive Tolbooth building and tower.

A number of these 'cut down' whisky barrels from the local Distillery were dotted around the town and used as an attractive flower bed.

St. Leonard's Church, which was first used in 1903.

The Town Hall building.

Good to note that the old signage is still in place for Pat MacKenzie, an Ironmongers.
Another view of the Tolbooth building. The foundation stone is dated 1838.

Carving of a face on the monument which is pictured in the previous image.
Down by the river.

  1. An attractive town, lots of the sort of things I like to photograph.
