Howick Arboretum: Part 1 of 2

Howick Hall is a Grade II listed building in Northumberland, extensively rebuilt after a fire in the 1920s.  It was the ancestral home of the Earls Grey, and home of Prime Minister Charles, 2nd Earl Grey, after whom the famous tea is named. All photo's in this series have been taken by Mooncat755.
First stop are the tea rooms.
They are elegantly furnished.

Windermere: Ferry Landing

The Windermere Ferry Landing, or Ferry House as it is sometimes called, is located on the west side of the lake. There are in fact two ferries in the summer months, the regular car and pedestrian ferry, seen having arrived above, plus a launch service which operates direct to Bowness Pier. The car and pedestrian ferry operates all year round.
The launch service is almost ready to leave for Bowness.
A few cycles ready to be taken on the car ferry.
Looking north along Lake Windermere.
Another launch arrives.
Passing by. Can you just spot the dog sat in the dinghy being towed?
One of the regular round the islands cruises from Bowness.

Sheltered anchorage.
There is a small creek adjacent to the Ferry Landing.

The car and pedestrian ferry has just left the other side of Windermere.
Getting closer.
Almost here.

Boulmer

The village of Boulmer, pronounced 'Boomer,' is on the Northumbrian coast, just east of the town of Alnwick  The first view shows the sweep of the beach.  The set of photo's in this series have all been taken by Mooncat755.
Looking in the opposite direction.
The unusually named 'Herring Sheds Cottage.'

Boulmer is home to R.A.F. Boulmer, one of the North East's main search and rescue bases. The R.A.F. opened a base here during World War Two.
An almost deserted, but not quite, beach.
Tractor on the beach.
Although there is no harbour, boats are hauled up onto the land above the beach. Fishing still takes place from Boulmer, the main catch consisting of crab, lobster and sea salmon.
