Alnmouth

Alnmouth is located four miles south east of Alnwick at the mouth of the River Aln. It was once an important trading port, mainly dealing in grain. The above view is of Northumberland Street. All the photo's in this series are taken by Mooncat755.
The mouth of the River Aln and the North Sea beyond. The river changed course after a voilent storm in 1806 and that led to the decline of Alnmouth as a port.
Looking south east.
A view north east.
Lots of folk taking a walk on the beach.
Tank traps to stop any invasion.
The golf course is the fourth oldest in England. It was opened in 1869.
A flight of steps to where?
An old pump on The Wynd.
The Sun Inn.
Some cottages.
A former merchant's house.
