Burton-in-Kendal

Burton-in-Kendal Post Office. The village is situated roughly midway between Carnforth and Kendal.
A fine trio of names. The station closed many years ago,
And how about Cocking Yard?
The cobbled Cocking Yard with its cottages is possibly one of the oldest parts of the village.
Hanging around in Cocking Yard.
Cockpennyes Cottage.
I wonder what this boarded up former shop and house was at one time? In the 18th century, the village was home to an important corn market.

  1. The "boarded up former shop" is , or was, the Royal public house, currently being renovated.
