Lancaster Castle

You would not have seen this view not so long ago. For Lancaster Castle was still being used as a prison. Now it is being turned into a tourist attraction, with various events being planned through the year.

The castle must have been a pretty bleak place to be imprisoned in.
The internal prison gates.
There was a real medieval theme to this particular day.

I liked the stone work over this entrance.
The windows are still barred.
A scene being acted in the grounds, which involved the two children being 'sold.'
The dark background of the Castle walls didn't make it easy to get a good photograph.
No drugs in the Prison.
The Archery proved to be a popular attraction.

Everywhere you looked were bars!

Time to leave. Many a prisoner must have walked through here on their release.
