Brockhole: Lake District National Park Centre: Part 1 of 2

The Lake District National Park Centre at Brockhole is open all the year round and is located on the road between Windermere and Ambleside. It was purchased by the Park Authority in 1969 and thus became England's first National Park Centre.
One of the more recent additions to Brockhole is the tree top walk, which is popular amongst children and 'adult' children! You wouldn't get me up there though!!

There are various paths through the gardens and grounds, down to the shore of Lake Windermere.

Brockhole was bought by the Gaddum family in 1899. They enlisted the help of Thomas Mawson who laid out the gardens which are now enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.
A glimpse of the lake.

The paths are well signposted.
On the shore of Lake Windermere.
Although it was raining on this side of the Lake, look at the sun on the mountains on the other side and the Langdales.

Some folk are more energetic than others.
