Tain

Tain is a small town in Ross and Cromarty. It was granted its first royal charter in 1066, making the town Scotland's oldest Royal Burgh, an event commemorated in 1966 with the opening of the Rose Garden by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.

The Royal Hotel is at one end of the main street, which curves around to the right, heading toward Dornoch, and the far north towns of Thurso and Wick. Thurso,

Tain Pet Supplies, shop and van.
You don't very often see a toy shop in towns any more.
An old building, with the lower floor now the Co-operative supermarket.
