Ambleside

The most photographed building in Ambleside. Bridge House was originally an apple store for the nearby Ambleside Hall. It was built over Stock Beck to escape paying land tax. Now owned by The National Trust.
A view up Compston Road. Pretty quiet this time of the year. Traffic queues in the summer though.
Such is the colour scheme, you can't miss The Thai Cuisine.
What's on at the cinema?
Looking towards the Market Cross
Water running down off the fells.
The Market Cross shops, built in 1997. This used to be the site of the bus station. There are an abundance of outdoor clothing shops in Ambleside, so much so, I am reliably informed you can buy walking boots there, but nowhere can you get a pair of knickers You have to travel to the shops in Kendal for them.
The former Market Hall building.
