Carnforth Station And Heritage Centre

Being a railway bus anorak,' I never get tired of visiting the Heritage Centre at Carnforth station as you get 'transported' back into another age.

If only the fares were that cheap today!
Very important for those of us over a certain age.

You have been warned!

Carnforth station as it used to be. Note the clock, which can also been on the very last image of today's series.

A wartime desk. Look at that typewriter and wireless!
The end of steam display.

The Brief Encounter refreshment room.

The iconic clock that was featured in the film.

  1. I love these memorabilia centres be they for bus, trains or anything nostalgic from the past. This was a cracking set of pictures, I would like to visit here some time.

    1. Amazingly it is free to have a look around. They have a very good shop there, and of course the Brief Encounter refreshment rooms. If you want something a little stronger, you could visit The Snug Micropub - a quite superb venue for real ale.
