Cromarty: Part 3 of 5

We continue our wander around Cromarty, looking towards the Arts and Study Centre.

This stone was in the wall of a house.
A bell tower.
The East Church.
Engravings on gravestones can often give you an idea of the history of a place.
Monument to a local Reverend.
There was a high mortality rate amongst children as can be seen from this headstone.
Cromarty Firth at the bottom of this lane.
The Paye.
Thatched cottage (see image below).

The welcome sight of the Cromarty Arms.
It was just after midday, so we were able to not only have a drink, but some rather excellent food here as well.
Inside the Cromarty Arms. A midweek lunch time in March not being one their busiest periods.  Shortly after this photo was taken a couple of cyclists stopped off for food as well.

The Court House.

(Part 4 of the visit to Cromarty will appear tomorrow).

  1. Very interesting houses, sad to read the gravestone of the children who died.
