Ulverston

One of the attractions of the Cumbrian town of Ulverston is that it has retained many of its unique, individual shops, keeping the usual chain stores out, thus retaining plenty of character to the place.
One shop that didn't last though. Annie's the butchers.  Brightly painted shop fronts, giving them a real cared for look, like next door for the Samovar, really do add to the attraction of shopping in Ulverston.
They are not all big shops either!!
Picture framing at The Tinners' Rabbit.
Laurel and Hardy figures sit in front of the Mad Hatters Tearooms. Stan Laurel was born in Ulverston.
A proper sweet shop. Just like they used to be!
The cobbled main shopping street.
Colourful display outside the florists.
Plaque on the front of what is now Lloyds TSB, so it is still a Bank.
Fruit and veg on the outdoor market
Not forgetting Ulverston's indoor market.
