A Walk To Kendal Canal Head

The walk to the Canal Head area in Kendal started by making my way along Lowther Street.
There are some quite old buildings to be seen.
Kendal was once a centre for snuff manufacturing.
Over the Miller Bridge across the River Kent.

Almost at Canal Head.

Gilkes are a well established employer in Kendal.
No one employed here though.
Former canal offices.
This old chimney is at the rear of Gilkes.
Aynam Mills.

A peek inside the factory of Gilkes.

Another snuff and tobacco manufacturer.

I wonder what this building was used for originally?
It's now a 'home' for the Cumbria Army Cadet Force.
Back over the River Kent by the foot bridge.
