Penrith: Castlegate & Town Centre

Castegate, not surprisingly leads from the ruins of Penrith Castle, to the town centre. It also links with the railway station. It is easier going down the hill into the town!

The Station Hotel.
Looking down the hill to the town centre.
The New Vic pub.
There are a real mix of buildings and architecture along Castlegate.
The steepest part of Castlegate.

Almost at the bottom of the hill.

The Cornmarket.

There were several yards in Penrith at one time.
The clock tower dominates the centre of Penrith.
The Advertiser office.
