Grasmere: Butharlyp Howe

Only a few minutes walk from the centre of Grasmere, visitors tend to miss out on the National Trust owned Butharlyp Howe (which is perhaps just as well!), and the beautiful, peace and quiet, as you make your way through the area. The view above was taken as we walked from Grasmere towards the 'Howe' which is behind the houses in the distance.
So many shades of green.

Following the path for easy walking.

Two more walkers ahead in the wooded section.

Only the sound of birdsong for company.

It's only a short walk - and can be part of a circular one - but highly recommended.
