Derwentwater At Keswick: Part 1 of 3

There are two distinct areas on the east side of Derwentwater in Keswick. The busy area, as seen above, where the launches around the lake go from. Then just a little walk away, you have stunning views, peace and quiet and very few folk about, as you will see in this series of images. Needless to say, my preference is for the latter.
Plenty of folk milling around the jetty area.

Some prefer to go rowing on the lake.
A launch is about to arrive.
I didn't stay to find out if all these people managed to get on the launch for the next sailing.

Moving away from the busy area, and heading toward Friar's Crag.
This is more to my liking!
A boathouse and jetty on the island.
Another launch heads for Keswick.

The weather was just superb on the day of my visit.
Across to the other side of Derwentwater.
The dog had retrieved a stick.
Despite it being a warm, sunny day, there was still a smattering of snow on the tops.
The quiet area. Yeesss! Calfclose Bay. A butty stop.  And what a view.

You can never get tired of these views, no matter the time of the year.
