Coniston: Part 1 of 2

The first view you see of Coniston when you get off the bus from Ambleside and Hawkshead. Looking along Tilberthwaite Avenue.
A little further along Tilberthwaite Avenue.
St. Andrews Church.
Coniston War Memorial.
A closer look.
John Ruskin (1819-1900) was a Victorian writer and critic.
You can just make out the inscription.
Coniston-born Hewitson was awarded the Victoria Cross for his actions protecting his men in battle at Givenchy, France on 26th April 1918.
Unusual view of the Crown Inn from the churchyard.
The standard tourist photo of the centre of Coniston, probably taken hundreds of thousands of times.
My favourite pub in Consiton - The Black Bull.
Yewdale Road.
The Village Store.

Left hand side of the Coniston Institute.
And the right hand side.
