Edinburgh: Princes Street Gardens: Part 1 of 3

The Waverley entrance to Princes Street Gardens, with The Scott Memorial in the background.
Although in the heart of the city centre, with the busy Princes Street on one side, and the approaches to Waverley station on the other, you really can get away from all the hustle and bustle and find a peaceful spot.
A row of benches to rest for a while.  The National Portrait Gallery can be seen in the distance.

Just one of Edinburgh's many fine buildings.

Looking back towards The Scott Memorial.

As can be seen from this general view, the gardens are superbly kept.

Although there were groups of people in the gardens, it was never overly busy, such is the vastness of the place.

  1. It looks a very open place with lovely views. I'm enjoying the buildings.
