A Walk Around Lancaster: Part 2 of 2

Lord Ashton generously paid for the statue in 1906. 
Another view of the impressive Town Hall building. It was officially opened in December 1909 by Lord Ashton.
The building replaced the existing Town Hall, which is now the City Museum in Market Street.

As can be seen the Town Hall is quite a substantial building and was partly financed by Lord Ashton.
