Silverdale: Part 1 of 2

I recently made the short bus journey from Carnforth to Silverdale, where I walked around the village and surrounding area. The bus service is roughly hourly and serves the villages of Warton, Yealand Conyers and Yealand Redmayne.
End of the journey and I have arrived in Silverdale. Time to explore!

There are only a handful of shops in the village now, but at one time you could buy virtually anything there and it also had a Bank, long since closed.
The Butchers shop.
Silverdale Village Hall.
Village shops have sales as well.

The Co-operative supermarket.
Newsagents, the Silverdale News,  including my shadow!
The Royal Hotel has been closed for some time, and now fenced off.
The Millennium Clock.
The long distance footpath, the Lancashire Coastal Way, passes through the village. It's a lengthy walk - 137 miles!

The building at the foot of the hill was the former Post Office. It has been replaced by premises in the village centre.

(Part 2 of the visit to Silverdale will be featured tomorrow).
