This Morning In Morecambe

Blue sky and sunshine in Morecambe today, so it was simply too good to stay indoors. The following set of images were taken this morning. The first shows a view out over Morecambe Bay.
Looking towards Heysham.
The substantial sea defences which proved their worth during the recent storms.
The Polo Tower.
Low tide.
I came across this publicity shoot at the rear of the Midland Hotel, in connection with 'Viva Morecambe' weekend which is to take place on 2nd, 3rd and 4th of May. I simply joined others taking photographs.

These two well known characters were in attendance as well.
Trotting along the Promenade.

This isn't going anywhere until the next tide rolls in.

A miserable bird.
I was surprised, as were others, to find that the cafe on the Stone Jetty was shut
The Light on the Stone Jetty.
The Circus had just arrived in town and the big tent was being erected.

I started the series of images with a bench and we end with one as well. Admiring the view with Grange Over Sands across the other side of Morecambe Bay.

  1. Fancy a job Mike. You would do a better job than LCC at marketing the town.
