The Buildings of Preston

It may have many modern shops, but a wander around the city centre of Preston last month also revealed that there are several fine old buildings as well, like this one above in Fishergate.
Sometimes if you look up at a building it can reveal all sorts of architectural features, such as this one now used by Greggs and a coffee shop.
Waterstones book shop use this fine looking building.
I wonder what this building was before the 'Office' moved in?

I believe this used to be a Bank.
Georgian architecture possibly? Now up for sale.
A grand entrance to the Miller Arcade.
Preston Town Hall.
The building is dated 1837.

Another view of the Town Hall.
The Harris Museum.
A closer look at the ornate carvings at the top of the Harris Museum buildings.
The Black Horse pub. It's worth calling in if only to see the well preserved interior.
The Corn Exchange.

The Corn Exchange clock tower.
Central Methodist Church.

  1. Some impressive buildings, "The Office" looks like it could have been a cinema originally.
