Today's selection of images are a real miscellany of views in Morecambe. The first one shows the Broadway Hotel which is due to be closed and converted into apartments at some stage in the future. |
One building that is being turned into apartments is the former Morecambe Hotel on Lord Street. In May of last year it was advertised for auction with a guide price of between £170,000 and £190,000. |
The date of 1828 appears on the Morecambe Hotel building. |
Morecambe Bay is known for its shrimps (not for me though! I don't 'do' sea food of any description), and The Shrimp Shop is in the Poulton area of the town. |

The local chippy, also in Poulton. |
The doorway of Poulton Hall. See image above. |
A former college building in Poulton Road |
A closer look at the tower. |
A building looking a bit 'unloved.' The shop on the left was once home to Tyson Antiques. (Part 2 of Morecambe Miscellany will appear tomorrow). |
Lovely old buildings, the detail on them is often overlooked by passers by. It takes a photographer to bring them out. By the way I'm surprised at how similar the former college is to our town hall at Cleethorpes.
