Morecambe Miscellany: Part 1 of 2

Today's selection of images are a real miscellany of views in Morecambe. The first one shows the Broadway Hotel which is due to be closed and converted into apartments at some stage in the future.
One building that is being turned into apartments is the former Morecambe Hotel on Lord Street. In May of last year it was advertised for auction with a guide price of between £170,000 and £190,000.
The date of 1828 appears on the Morecambe Hotel building.
Morecambe Bay is known for its shrimps (not for me though! I don't 'do' sea food of any description), and The Shrimp Shop is in the Poulton area of the town.

The local chippy, also in Poulton.

The doorway of Poulton Hall. See image above.

A closer look at the tower.
A building looking a bit 'unloved.' The shop on the left was once home to Tyson Antiques.

(Part 2 of Morecambe Miscellany will appear tomorrow).

  1. Lovely old buildings, the detail on them is often overlooked by passers by. It takes a photographer to bring them out. By the way I'm surprised at how similar the former college is to our town hall at Cleethorpes.
