A Visit To Arnside; Part 1 of 2

A visit to Arnside last Thursday coincided with an exceptionally high tide in the River Kent estuary. A traditional view of the railway viaduct.
The tide races in here twice a day and is reminiscent of the famous River Severn bore. A close look at the water under the railway viaduct. Although there are plenty of warning signs and a siren sound when the tide approaches, there have been instances where people have had to be rescued. (Pic - Mooncat755)
A clock overlooking the estuary.
In calmer water. (Pic - Mooncat755).
The former Barclays Bank building.
A train over the viaduct heading for Grange over Sands, Ulverston and Barrow in Furness.

At the end of the short Arnside Pier looking towards the shops.
Possibly a little too cold to enjoy an ice cream.
A covered footpath from the shops.
It was closed!
Jack and the Beanstalk.
The tide was rolling in .......
.... and partly covering the slipway.
Another slipway further along.

(Part 2 of the visit to Arnside will appear tomorrow).
