| Windermere station is much changed from steam days. The line used to go into the building at the far end, which was part of the station, and is now a Booths supermarket. Nevertheless, the station design fits in well architecturally with its surrounds. It is the single track terminus on the line form Oxenholme on the West Coast main line. |

| Originally called Lakeland Plastics, now Lakeland, the biggest employer in the area, with shops nationwide. This is its Windermere 'flagship' store which is well worth a visit. |
