Wigtown

The final part of the visit to South West Scotland and a trip to the 'book town' of Wigtown, so designated because of the many bookshops and dealers located there. There is an annual Book Festival that attracts thousands of visitors to the town, as well as many well known authors who give entertaining talks. The above image shows the north end of the main street.
The gardens and shops.
Another view of the gardens.
This unusual shop - 'Historic Newspapers' - buy and sell old newspapers.

(Thanks to our Roving Scotland Correspondent for all of the above images).

  1. Some lovely houses and shops to enjoy, my camera club members think I'm odd photographing shops etc so it's good to know there is at least one other person who shares my enthusiasm for them.
