Although located in the village of Cark, the station also serves Cartmel. hence the name. Strangely though, the nearer village of Flookburgh is not mentioned! |
The station is on the line from Lancaster to Barrow-in-Furness. The station opened on 1st September 1857 as Cark-in-Cartmel. The current name was adopted in 1906. |
