Beetham Church

Having featured the village of Bentham yesterday, today we look at the Church. A delightful path to reach the Church.
St Michael's Church is an English Heritage Grade 1 listed building. The lower part of the tower can be traced back to Anglo-Saxon days, with other parts of the building dating from 1200 and the 13th century.

There are a few carvings and figures adorning the outside walls of the Church.
The plaque states that remains of the Hadwen family from the 1770s were buried nearby.

A banner hanging inside the Church.
There are some fine stained glass windows.
