Cark: The Village

The village of Cark is much smaller than the adjoining village of Flookburgh, however, it does have one general store and two pubs! We visited The Engine Inn, to be instantly greeted by the pub dog, Jasper.

I 'sampled' two of them whilst there. 'The Land of Cartmel' and 'Gladness.'
The world's hottest.
Not the greatest of photo's as it was taken full on into the sun. The general store is on the left in what is the centre of the village.
Similar view to the one above, but a little further along the road on the bridge over the beck.
Smart looking cottage.
The other pub in the village, a the top of the hill, the Rose & Crown.
The sun reflecting on the water in the beck.
Headlines in the local newspaper, North West Evening Mail.
