Flookburgh: The Village

Flookburgh is a village on the Cartmel peninsula in Cumbria, until 1974 part of Lancashire. Flookburgh derives its name from flat fish, known as flukes, found in the area.

There are a handful of shops like the Flookburgh Pharmacy in the village, including the usual general stores.
The Flookburgh Sandwich Shop.

The Hope & Anchor is one of two pubs in the village.
There are some old buildings in the village. This one dates back to 1839.
This one is probably even older.
Decisions, decisions. Does one buy a fish or a caravan?
The other pub in the village is The Crown.
A trip to Southport.
A very quiet main street.
A front door with an ornate design.
Doors and windows can just be seen!
A Royal Charter was granted to the people of Flookburgh, allowing them to have a fair in the streets.

A visit to the Flookburgh chippy. Tasty!
