Flookburgh: St John The Baptist Church

The front of the St John The Baptist Church in Flookburgh with the unusual round tower. The Church was designed by Lancaster-based architects, Austin and Paley. The foundation stone was laid in 1897 by Lady Evelyn Cavendish of nearby Holker Hall, and the construction costs, totalling £12,000, was met by Victor Cavendish.
The war memorial in the Church grounds.
The Church banner.
Another tower, a rectangular one at the rear of the Church. The main entrance can also be seen.

The organ pipes.
Two of the stained glass windows. All the stained glass in the Church is by Shrigley and Hunt of Lancaster, a business that can be traced back to the 1750s. The glass in the Church was added between 1901 to 1927.
Flookburgh Roll of Honour.
Diamond Jubilee gates at the rear of the Church.

The Church is actually in Cark - just! As can be seen across the road there is a sign for the village of Flookburgh.
