Fleetwood: Part 1 of 3

The most prominent building at the Fleetwood Pier area is the North Euston Hotel, which was built over a two year period in 1840 and 1841.

An old anchor.
Despite the blue sky, it was too early in the year to open.
Fleetwood Lifeboat Station and shop.

No ferry operating on the day I was in Fleetwood, due to low tide.
The sign could do with a makeover.

I have to say some of the buildings here look rather tatty with peeling paint work.

An original tram shelter, only used by the heritage trams when they operate.
Unusually The Pharos Lighthouse stands in a residential street - Pharos Street, hence the name. Built in 1840, it is 93-foot tall.
Memorial to those who lost their lives in the Morecambe Bay helicopter accident.
Ornamental fountain.
Sailing by.

(Part 2 of the visit to Fleetwood will appear tomorrow).
