Aviemore is situated in the Cairngorms National Park. To be honest there is very little of photographic or architectural merit. The town has become a centre for Winter sports, and really expanded after the opening of the first ski lift in the Cairngorms in 1961. It proved to be a real challenge to find anything worth photographing. I have probably failed, as can be seen from this set of images! It is not a place that appeals to me one little bit, however the ride on the bus from Grantown-on-Spey, and the train journey back to Inverness makes the day out worthwhile. So O.K. just to pass through. |
