Williamson Park, Lancaster

Impressive entrance to Williamson Park, Lancaster. Opened in 1880

The park is a joy to walk around and is well maintained.
A view across Lancaster,  Morecambe and the Bay beyond.  The Carlisle Railway Bridge can clearly be seen which carries the West Coast main line. (Pic - Lynda Braithwaite).
The tea rooms and shop.
Pot of tea for one?

Plays in the Park are staged at various times, hence the wooden benches for the audience. I'm told that the plays that are held in darkness, with limited lighting, are really special.
There are many paths through the park. The Ashton Memorial building can be seen through the trees.
Trees and shadows. Very atmospheric!
