Kendal: Part 1 of 2

Not too many folk around in Market Place and no one sat outside drinking coffee.
The old Public Market signage which is above the entrance to the Westmorland Shopping Centre.
A giant globe outside the pub of the same name.
Unusual  to see this crochet work wrapped around the post outside Kendal Library. I'm told it is called 'Wool Bombing.'  You learn something new every day!
More of the same wrapped around the iron railings.
The main entrance to Kendal Library.
Marsden Brothers, a butchers shop in the New Shambles.
Berry's Yard, one of many such yards in the town of Kendal.
The Tour of Britain cycle race was due through the town a couple of days after I took this photograph.
Entrance to the former brewery, now an arts and entertainment centre.
Part of the former brewery buildings. Originally opened as Whitwell Marks Brewery, By 1900 it became one of the town's largest employers. The Company was taken over by Vaux Breweries of Sunderland in 1946 and it continued to operate as a brewery until 1971. The buildings were converted into the Brewery Arts Centre and reopened in 1972.
Outside the Brewery Arts Centre looking towards the town.
Archway and entrance to the Brewery Arts Centre. Final image today, more from Kendal tomorrow.
