Kendal: Part 2 of 2

The second part of the visit to Kendal (see yesterday's images) and a look at the Leyland Motors Clock, which is located in the grounds of the Brewery Arts Centre.
Here it is, the Leyland Motors Clock.
Looking along Highgate towards the town centre.
It was a shame that  a car was parked in front of this building, but then it is a car park! This facade was designed by Francis Webster in 1825 on the gas meter house of the Kendal Gaslight and Coke Company in Parkside Road. It was preserved when the gasworks was demolished in 1869 and re-erected on this site in 1984.  The latin inscription at the top of the facade translates: 'From smoke let light break out.'
Modern sculpture on the green overlooked by Kendal Parish Church.
A view along the River Kent, with the former Almshouses on the other side of the river.
Headquarters of the 1st Kendal Company, although I doubt if they have used this building since 1912.
Kirkland Hall.
Next door to Kirkland Hall is Nether Hall.

Nether Bridge.
The majority of these riverside apartments have lain empty ever since they were built.
There are two plaques on the house where George Romney lived - see below.
