A Walk Around Ambleside: Part 1 of 2

It's hard to believe that the Old Lake Road was originally the main road into Ambleside. Now it is a relatively quiet back route. The road that replaced it can just be seen on the left of the photograph.
What a great name for a cottage. Situated on Old Lake Road.
An extremely worn and filthy signpost.
Still on Old Lake Road, is Thomas Fold Cottage, which was built as recently as 1989.

Back in town and The Market Hall.
Overlooking Christmas shoppers.
And another!
From the steps of the Salutation Hotel.
Just to the right of the previous image.

Peggy Hill looks to be a bit of a climb.

(Part 2 of the walk around Ambleside will be featured tomorrow).
