Hexham

It was a grey, wet day in the Northumbrian market town of Hexham. It is also a bit of a climb up the hill of Hallgate from the car park to the town centre

The Old Gaol, now a museum. It is reputed to be the oldest purpose built prison in England, and was built between 1330 and 1333.
