Wennington: The Village

The village of Wennington is located 12 miles from Lancaster.
The River Wenning, hence the name Wennington.
The village green.

This building appears to have been added to on two occasions. Look at the height of the roof, three different levels.
The old village pump.
I wonder how old these stone steps are?
There are some quite old buildings in the village.
Looks as if there was a stables entrance here at one time.
The narrow main road through the village.
Road bridge over the River Wenning.
A nice place to sit a while on a summer's day.
A closer look at the bridge.
View from under the bridge.

  1. Some nice shots here Mike, the village has a lot of similarities to Nettleham in Lincolnshire.
