A two-part visit to Ulverston, starting with the cobbled Market Street. |
Watch out for the Elves. |
And the Gnomes. |
Further along Market Street. |
It is surprising what you can see when you look up at buildings. Such as the long gone Swarthmoor and Ulverston ..... (See next image). |
.... Co-Operative Society Limited. |
The modern day Co-operative store, much smaller, just across the road from the old one. |
Local newspaper offices. |
One of several wall murals as can be seen from the following images. |
I liked the shadow of the lamp on the wall of Smith's Court. |
A hand cart. |
This old building is on the corner of Soutergate and Fountain Street. |
Hoad's Monument as seen from Fountain Street. (Pic - Mooncat755). |
An old advertisement (Tomorrow we continue Part 2 of the walk around Ulverston) |
What a great town to photograph with lots of quirky bits. All I remember of our visit there years ago was the Laurel & Hardy museum.
