Burton In Lonsdale; Part 1 of 2

The wide main street in the village of Burton In Lonsdale, which is situated on the Lancaster to Ingleton road.
The Burton village shop and cafe is a community organised venture, staffed and supported by the villagers themselves.
In the window of the shop.

Rather tasty looking home made cakes, like this one, were on sale in the newly opened cafe.
We were there two days before the official opening, but did support both the shop and the cafe.

There cannot be too many road signs still in every day use as old as this one.
The flat topped Ingleborough towers over the village in the distance.
A closer look.
The Old Ropery.

The cottage is slowly being covered!

(Part 2 of the visit to Burton In Lonsdale will appear tomorrow)
