| The ferry from Knott End to Fleetwood provides a very useful link across the River Wyre, used by workers, locals, shoppers and people like me! The crossing takes just a few minutes, otherwise it is a very long way round by road. |

Reminds me of the old New Holland to Hull paddle steamer ferry (before "The Bridge"). It often got stuck on sandbank if the tides were low.
