Avoch: Part 1 0f 2

The fishing village of Avoch is on The Black Isle alongside the Moray Firth. The street and housing in the above image is so typical of the village.
The Station Hotel. Sadly the nearby station and branch railway closed in June 1960.

Many of the streets run from the main road through the village to the shore.

The main road that links the A9 from Inverness to Cromarty.

A view from the harbour along the shore which clearly shows how the cottages were built along side it, many of which would have been occupied by fishermen (Pic -Mooncat755).
A view in the other direction towards Rosemarkie and Fortrose.

Low tide at Avoch harbour.
