Ings

The village of Ings is situated on the Kendal to Windermere road, just south of the latter.
My favourite of all Lake District pubs, The Watermill, which also has its own brewery and sells anything up to 16 real ales at any one time. The food is highly recommended as well.
One of the many dry stone walls in the area.
This traffic sign is a real relic from the past, with the symbol no longer used.. Probably forgotten about. The village school closed a long time ago.
The lane through the village looking towards the former school, now the village hall.
The gate to the village church, St Anne.
In the churchyard at St Anne. The church was built in 1743, being funded by a local merchant, Robert Bateman.
Meadowcroft Cottages.
The distinctive Herdwick sheep enjoying the grass.
A bargain?
Attractive cottages on the road from Ings to the next village of Staveley.
More cottages.
