Dingwall Shops

There are real mix of small shops in Dingwall, with no supermarkets in the main shopping area, although the dreaded Tesco is nearby.  This one is the hardware store - MacDonalds.
Bored of ironing?
The lettering on the shop front is so big, you could never miss the Pound Store.
Deas the bakers.
Black Isle turnips anyone?
Rhoda Fraser, the local Kiltmaker.
I thought we were in Scotland not the U.S.A.?
The Community Shop may not look much on the outside, but it is a cornucopia of bric-a-brac, second hand clothing and books inside, spread over two floors. Well worth a visit. You never know what you will find.  There is even a cafe, with, if you are lucky, (or not as the case may be), live music being played.
There was even a stuffed Mink in the shop!
And a piano complete with sheet music for the likes of Count Basie.
Finally, wise words above the secondhand book section.

  1. You have some great shops in your area, I particularly liked seeing the "Ironing Bored" shop.
    Another fascinating set Mike.

    1. Thanks David. I've got a few more days worth of images to come yet, all taken on our visit to the Inverness area.
