Rydal is very much on the tourist trail due to its link with William Wordsworth. |
The Church of St Mary wa sbuilt by Lady Le Fleming of nearby Rydal Hall in 1824. William Wordsworth helped choose the location, which had been an orchard. |
The Church is situated in quite a scenic location. |
The west side of the Church. |
A millennium Garden was created in the Church grounds. |
I was the only one in the Church. It was so peaceful! Not a sound. Looking towards the altar. |
A view in the other direction. |
Impressive stained glass window. |
And another. |
It wasn't easy to get a photo of this, such was the reflection (even of me!). But I felt it was worth trying in view of the important William Wordsworth connection. |
Your images around Rydal reminds me of holidays we had their, very enjoyable. We once visited the church to see the daffodils and the organist was practicing inside.....delightful.
