More From Hornby

The village pub - Royal Oak.
Spirit of the Andes is perhaps not the sort of business you would expect to find in a village like Hornby, but this high class clothes retailer has been here for quite some years.
A row of cottages.
Hornby Tea Rooms and Hornby Post Office
Wenning Stores.
The entrance to Hornby Castle with the tower-like lodge on the left.  The tower castle is 16th century, but the rest of it dates from the 18th and 19th century. Now divided into flats, the castle and grounds are private, although it opens to the general public a couple of times per year.
Drinking fountain, with a cat holding a rat motif above it, dated 1858. The motif was removed from the first Cat and Rat Bridge which carried the railway line to Lancaster over the A683, west of the village, when the bridge was rebuilt to accommodate double track.
A mosaic on the pavement outside the butchers (Pic - Lynda Braithwaite).
The old Police Station. The blue doors are a bit of a give away!
